Change

My whole life, I have been presented to a single element called change. Change occurs in many different forms and is carried out in many different ways. However, just recently, I have come to the realization that change can be the deepest of all subjects. I always assumed that change occured when you moved to a new town or when you lost someone close to you. Those are elements to change, yes, but change doesn't have to occur over a single dramatic event. It can just happen overnight when your brain determines it's time to do something different.

For obvious reasons, people reject change. Especially people who are close to each other because they feel that this change is going to seperate them and make them not as close as they used to be. They fight the change until they force the person to change. It's sad how this works, but in reality, it's probably the single most reason why people change. The people we love, love us so much that they want us to remain the way we are forever. Forever is a long time and not one person can always stay the same. Sometimes if the people we love would just accept the change and go with it, they would understand where the change was origianlly coming from.

It's dangerous to try to stop change and argue against it, especially if the person wants to change so much. The reason that somebody wants to change is usually not their choice, but a feeling that the person feels inside their head and heart. It's almost like a celestial force is making you change and you have no say in the matter but you know you have to because your mental and physical attributes are commanding you to. Maybe the change isn't the best change, but if you dig deeper, the person that you love and know isn't really changing, they are just trying to find themselves and the one thing they need the most is the support of the people who they care about the most. When the people they care about the most dismiss their change as something unimportant and try to guard down everything by rules and regulations, the person they loved begins to change out of sadness that the one group of people he or she thought would understand, really has no clue.

The Persuasiveness of the Captivity Narrative Essay

- As the most influential black American author of his time, in The Interesting Narrative of the Life of Olaudah Equiano, or Gustavas Vassa, the African, Written by Himself, Olaudah Equiano illuminated for the masses many of the inhumanities and atrocities associated with the slave trade that previously had been known only to those more intimately involved with it and began an entire new genre known as the slave narrative. Part of the success of Equiano’s narrative must be ascribed to the familiar themes of capture, captivity, and restoration that he experienced and many had read in one of the many “captivity narratives” that were so popular in early Colonial times....   [tags: Olaudah Equiano, Narrative]

Essay on Two Months - Personal Narrative

- Two Months - Personal Narrative The day my sister left for England, something inside of me woke up. It felt like the desert sand being surprised by cool wet rain, my amazement and surprise was just the same. The reality that this was really happening, we really were being separated, all became too much for me. As close as two siblings could be, it is often difficult to distinguish between Georgie and I. One wonders, where does Georgie start, and where do I begin. Who developed the sarcastic wit, and who picked it up as the years went by....   [tags: Personal Narrative Descriptive]

Narrative of the Life of Frederick Douglass Essay

- Narrative of the Life of Frederick Douglass      The tone established in the Narrative of the Life of Frederick Douglass is unusual in that from the beginning to the end the focus has been shifted. In the beginning of the narrative Douglass seems to fulfill every stereotypical slavery theme. He is a young black slave who at first cannot read and is very naïve in understanding his situation. As a child put into slavery Douglass does not have the knowledge to know about his surroundings and the world outside of slavery....   [tags: Narrative Life Frederick Douglass Essays]

Personal Narrative- Transformation of a Hurting Teen Essay

- Personal Narrative- Transformation of a Hurting Teen Before I lost my innocence I was care-free, and full of love. But I grew up and my peers began to tease me. “Am I really fat, ugly, stupid and dorky”. I thought. Every loving part of me was torn apart piece by piece by my young peers like wolves on the prowl. Every fault and every flaw I owned was brought to my attention. This teasing spawned an anger in me so strong that every aspect of my life was destroyed. I began to rebel towards any kind of authority as a way to protect myself....   [tags: Personal Narrative]

Free Narrative Essays - Advertising and Personal Values

- Advertising and Personal Values I just discovered that I don't know anything about today's society. This of course came as a shock. I had thought that I was an informed citizen but I now know otherwise. this enlightenment came at great cost in time, and effort. The time was spent in watching television for an hour. The effort was to not lose my sanity for unlike any other hour of TV, this time I was forced to actually watch the commercials. The values that TV presents seem to be different than what I was taught as a child....   [tags: Personal Narrative Essays]

Essay on Personal Narrative- Suicide Aftermath

- Personal Narrative- Suicide Aftermath Some thoughts sneak into our mind without our knowledge, and some thoughts are already in our mind without our knowledge. Music either triggers this knowledge, or it draws the already present knowledge to the surface. For example, this morning was like any other morning. I got up, made the bed, fed the dog, and brushed my teeth while she ate. I got dressed and took her potty after putting on the same blue leash I have put on her every morning since she was a puppy three years ago....   [tags: Personal Narrative Writing]

Free Narrative Essays - Getting Out

- Getting Out Moving to Ankeny proved to be more difficult that I first expected. I had been looking forward to moving out of the house for over four years, and wxpected it to be easy and fun. Moving turned out to be neither easy nor very fun, as I had hoped it would be. I took us four trips to Ankeny just to get our apartment. First, we had to look at different apartments. Then we had to sign a few papers and leave a deposit. Belmont Apartments decided to change the way it filed information....   [tags: Personal Narrative Essays]

Essay on Personal Narrative- The Path Towards Grace, Love and Peace

- Personal Narrative- The Path Towards Grace, Love and Peace When I was 16 I left my parents home. One month before I left, I wrote this in my journal: “What is the fluttering in my belly, rising up through my chest. An apprehension — a fear — excitement. I am anticipating a change — a falling down — a caving in of something I expect to be solid. I’m in a strange place, moving slowly forward with nothing that can be measured — an internal advancement, a shedding away of old selves. I am pared down.” The story of my leaving still feels like something written in code — a code no one could understand on the rational mind level....   [tags: Personal Narrative Writing]

Kristina with a K- Personal Narrative Essay

- Kristina with a K- Personal Narrative The year was 1986; it was on this day my life would forever be changed. Up until this point I was a loner, single, an individual. Some people like to be in this state, I wasn't sure that I cared either way. Anyhow, this is where Kristina started. She spelt her name with a "K" instead of the traditional "C." The name was just one way that she was different. I was never quite sure if she chose to be or not. In that aspect I suppose we were the same. At first accepting her into my life was a given more than an option, I guess....   [tags: Free Essays]

Free Narrative Essays - Transcendentalism

- Transcendentalism A whole month of being nice. From the start, I didn't think it was even humanly possible. Although I always try my hardest to be pleasant, I'm sarcastically witty by nature. This project, no matter how inspirational and uplifting it could be, would decidedly be no walk in the park. Nevertheless, I decided to persevere. Even if I ended up being a complete Transcendental failure, maybe I'd still learn something along the way. Maybe change isn't always good or bad, like I was saying before, but it could be looked at as something to help you grow. So just remember..if someone is changing, be there for them, offer your their opinion but help them go through whatever they need to go through because they will do what they need to do regardless of the people that they really do love.
